Product Description

Bitonto F1, characterised by its compact foliage and rugose leaf habit, produces an abundant yield of fruits. Specifically bred for pot production due to its very compact plant habit, this variety boasts cherry-shaped, glossy fruits. Each fruit has an average weight of 12 grams, with dimensions measuring approximately 25 mm by 28 mm.

Growing Instructions

Sow indoors: Feb-Apr

Harvest: Jul-Sep

Sow seeds indoors, placing them onto moist, well-drained seed compost and lightly covering with soil. Use gentle heat to aid propagation. Expect germination within 7-14 days. Once seedlings develop two true leaves, transplant them into 8cm pots, maintaining a minimum temperature of 15°C. Gradually acclimatise the plants to outdoor conditions and plant them out after the risk of frost has passed. Plant three seedlings per grow bag or space them 60cm apart. If sowing in an unheated greenhouse, follow the same method but delay planting until March or April.

For growing on, these plants are easy to cultivate. Keep the soil moist and feed with a high-potash plant food once fruits begin to form. They can be grown outdoors or in a greenhouse.
