Product Description

This eye-catching Italian beetroot variety is distinguished by its unique concentric rings of rose-red and white when cut open. It boasts a notably sweet and delicious flavour. These beetroots can be harvested early for tender 'baby beets', or allowed to grow to full maturity for larger vegetables.

Growing Instructions

So indoors: Jan-Feb

Sow outdoors: Mar-Jul

Flowers: Jul-Oct

Plant the seeds directly in the desired flowering location. Sow them 15mm deep in soil that has been finely prepared and smoothed. Place 2 seeds together at intervals of 45cm. Expect seedlings to sprout within 14-21 days. Once they grow large enough, thin out by removing the weaker plant, which can be replanted elsewhere if desired. Ensure regular watering until the plants are well-established.

For an early start, seeds can be sown indoors. Plant them 15mm deep in individual pots and place in a cold frame or greenhouse. Keep the soil moist. Gradually acclimatize the plants to outdoor conditions and transplant them once the risk of frost has passed. Water them deeply but not too frequently, and feed them sparingly. These plants will need staking or some form of support as they grow.
